D&P Self Image Jewerly Workshop with Mrs.Shemika Bryant

At every D&P workshop there is always a lesson to be learned for each of our girls. This workshop was called “Loving Myself”, and at this workshop we had a very special guest Mrs. Shemika Bryant the owner and designer of Lady Lucky.

Of course each of our girls were very excited to learn that they were going to design and make their very own jewelry pieces. The other wonderful part about having Mrs. Shemika as a mentor to the girls, she also came with a  powerful message!  All girls and women are fearfully and wonderful made, however if we are not taught at a young age the imporance of understanding that we all have our different skills and looks as well as talents!! And we must love ourselves first and be true to who we are. Mrs. Shemika made it a point to have each girl to look inside themselves, to show each of them how special and unique they all are!

It is our goal as mothers, mentors and women to help shape the minds and plant seeds of inspiration into the hearts of our girls. With workshops such as these it’s to assist with this desire. It's also not enough to say we have to do better but be compelled to take action! Self image is a silent plague that can overtake us at any age if we are not guided and assisted with channeling it as properly most of us are lost to never really love ourselves!It's never to late to start loving  yourself!
